MATTHEW STEWART
Coach Matt is an El Paso, Texas native who began his soccer career at just five years old. During his youth, he played for multiple top clubs in the El Paso area, including El Paso United, a select team that represented El Paso, Texas in Top International tournaments such as Dallas Cup.
He played Varsity soccer his entire high school career earning All District first team, All State first team, All Region first team as well as winning MVP and Mr. Soccer for El Paso, Texas. He continued his soccer career at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas, where he captained the team and earned All American. He then spent the next twenty years playing professional outdoor and indoor soccer with the El Paso Patriots in the United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL) and then the A-League, the Houston Hotshots and San Diego Sockers. After 5 years, he spent the rest of his playing career in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), where he won two Championship titles with the Milwaukee Wave in 2011 and 2012, and later the Professional Arena Soccer League. In 2006, he joined the U.S. Men’s National Futsal Team to play in various tournaments including CONCACAF World Cup Qualification in Guatemala, Grand Prix Futsal Tournament in Manaus Brazil, FIFA Futsal World Cup and the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He is an A-licensed coach with more than twenty years experience coaching with the top soccer clubs, including six years coaching in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League.
